Authorities have arrested an Arkansas mother for endangerment, claiming the woman's own son called 911 after she had left him alone with his two younger siblings. Tyliah Andrews, 22, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, Us Weekly has learned, after police were called to her Jonesboro home on the morning of Monday, February 2. Court documents shared with Us allege that the first call made by Andrews' son came in at approximately 5:23 a.m. The boy told dispatchers that his parents were "gone," and police officers were asked to check out the situation. A second 911 call came in as officers were nearing the residence. After being let into the home by one of the children, police discovered the boy who called with his two younger siblings but no adult supervision. Police said that a 1-year-old was found sitting on a couch, eating popcorn that had spilled onto the floor. The other children - ages 2 and 5 - were located in a separate room in the residence. Police ended up calling Andrews, who told them she had left the children under the watchful eyes of her 14-year-old nephew. Andrews also told officers that she was at another apartment complex about 15 minutes away. Officers said that while they were waiting for Andrews to return to the home, they saw vomit on the kitchen floor. They also spotted "live roaches crawling on the floor and on the walls." The sink was allegedly overrun with dirty dishes, and the heat was turned up to a stiflingly "high setting." Police said there was garbage scattered throughout the home. The three kids are now in state custody. The 5-year-old told police that all three children had been "home alone all day." But Andrews told police that she contacted her nephew and asked him to watch her children. She told cops he told her he was on his way over, "so she left" to head to her friend's apartment. Officers ultimately determined that Andrews' nephew "was not involved" with watching her children, and that his mother said he was with her the entirety of the night. Andrews has been charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and criminal impersonation. She remains in custody at the Craighead County Jail, where she is being held on $5,000 bond. She is due to appear in court on March 20. She has yet to enter pleas, and her attorney was unavailable for comment. Police said Andrews' children are now in the custody of her grandmother. As she was speaking to investigators, Andrews later told police that she taught her son to call 911 in the event of an emergency and chalked up the calls to his wanting "to be a police officer when he grows up."
