A Texas man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his partner 15 times in front of their 18-month-old child, claiming that he believed she was cheating on him. Brandon Dickerson pleaded guilty to one count of murder in connection to the death of 23-year-old Alexis Walls, according to a press release issued by the Brazos County District Attorney's Office. After he entered his plea, 85th District Court Judge Kyle Hawthorne sentenced Dickerson, 30, to serve 50 years in prison. Dickerson fatally shot Walls in February 2025 at their residence in Bryan, Texas. After Walls was shot, Dickerson called 911 to report that he killed the mother of his child after he had shot her multiple times. Bryan Police Department officers then arrived at the residence around 1 a.m., where they found that the victim had already died from her injuries. An investigation was launched into her death, and investigators determined that she had been shot 15 times. Dickerson and Walls were not formally married, though they were involved in a common-law marriage. Dickerson claimed to detectives that he shot and killed Walls because he thought she was cheating on him, according to court documents viewed by KBTX. He was arrested on February 27, 2025, and detained in the Brazos County Detention Center on a $300,000 bond, according to online records viewed by Us Weekly. Now that he has entered his plea, he will be transferred to the custody of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The district attorney's office said that Dickerson and Walls' child is now being raised by Walls' parents. "Alexis was a light to everyone she met," the prosecution team said in a statement obtained by KCEN. "She was a loving mother, a beautiful daughter and a considerate friend. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, but her memory will live forever in their hearts." "Mr. Dickerson is sincerely remorseful for the actions of that night," the Casaretto Law Group, PLLC, commented. "Further, as evidenced in his plea, he takes full responsibility for his actions and accepts the punishment [assessed] in this case." The DA's statement also honored Walls' life with a touching tribute included in the press release. "From the moment she was born, she brought light to those who were lucky enough to know her. She was friendly, kind, and thoughtful. She was the youngest of three children. Her family affectionately referred to her as a 'hurricane,'" the statement read. "Alexis never met a stranger. She welcomed everyone she met with open arms. She was bubbly and talkative. For her family, she was a ball of joy. For her friends, she was a listening ear," the office's statement continued, adding that her son meant "everything" to her.
