Andy Cohen is super supportive of the OG Real Housewives of New York City and their new docuseries on E! "You know what? I'm so excited for them," Cohen, 57, said during the Thursday, February 5, broadcast of SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live. "I texted the ladies yesterday. I think it's gonna be a great show." The Bravo host and producer made it clear that he could "never root against" the original RHONY cast. "I absolutely love them. I love them together. So does America," he added. "I'm gonna speak for America, and I think it's gonna be great, and I can't wait to watch, and I'm happy for them." Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for FLC E! confirmed on Tuesday, February 3, that the network greenlit a 10-episode docuseries tentatively titled The Golden Life, which is set to follow Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan. The women will be trading the Big Apple for their new home in Palm Beach, Florida. (Us Weekly confirmed the news via a source days before the official announcement.) "Bound by decades of shared history, fallouts and friendship, this fan-favorite group of New Yorkers are starting fresh together in the Sunshine State," the show's logline read, according to the official press release. "In this new 'golden' era of life, the longtime friends are thriving in and around Palm Beach with fabulous second homes and a bustling social scene." Andy Cohen's Friendships With Ex Housewives: Who Is He on Good Terms With? The network promised the women's "signature humor and nonstop hijinks" as they "navigate dating, family and career milestones" in this new chapter of their lives. "Though skies are bright in Florida, unresolved drama looms as they reconnect after years of highs and lows," the press release read. Cohen explained during Thursday's radio show that "they all live in Florida" except de Lesseps and possibly Bensimon. He also noted that Dorinda Medley is "not on" the new show. "I believe Jill, Sonja and Ramona live in Florida, so that's where they really are, so I think it'll be great," Cohen continued. "If you watch the Ultimate Girls Trip that they all did, it was really fun." Everett Collection Cohen was referring to The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy, which aired on Bravo in 2023. (De Lesseps, Bensimon, Morgan, Medley Singer and Kristen Taekman all appeared on the cast.) "That felt like kind of a series finale in a weird way," Cohen added. "They kind of wrapped it all up, but now they're embarking on - their new lives, and yeah. So, I wish them well, and I'm happy for the fans who wanted to see this." Cohen's cohost John Hill noted during Thursday's radio show that it was a "new era" for the women. The president of entertainment at Versant, which owns E!, also released a statement about the RHONY docuseries. "We're thrilled to welcome reality TV royalty to E! for a reunion fans have been waiting for," Val Boreland said on Tuesday. "The energy within this group has always been electric, and we're excited to watch it unfold in a new chapter of life by the beach."
