Hoda Kotb has returned to the Today Show as her friend Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy remains missing. On Friday, Hoda was back with co-stars Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Carson Daly to address the heartbreaking abduction of the 84-year-old. Getting emotional, she expressed: "This whole thing is breaking my heart and I'm happy to be sitting here with you. I picture Savannah sitting there. I just want to say good morning and everybody's hoping and praying for Nancy's safe return." She then introduced a segment praising the "massive show of support" from the public, adding: "From vigils to people offering positive thoughts online, and just a lot of hope. The nation's rallying around our dear friend Savannah and her family - believing their dear mom Nancy will be back soon in their loving arms." We pray for that, too! I'm looking at us and I was thinking, 'Who was first in the hospital when [my daughter] Hope was sick? Savannah. Who hopped on a plane when [Carson's] parents [died]? Savannah. Who was sitting by [Sheinelle's late husband] Uche [Ojeh]'s side? How about when your brother passed, [Craig]? She was there.'" She urged everyone to "be patient and put prayers up," noting: "I was thinking this morning. ... They say, 'love is patient, love is kind,' like, we'll be patient and put prayers up. That's all we can do." Very, very sweet. We can't imagine how difficult it has been for these TV stars to report on such a close-to-home case. Hoda retired from the show last January, so it was unexpected to see her back in the studio - especially since she was expected to be in Milan to cover the Winter Olympics, which begin today, Friday. While Savannah and her co-host Craig have dropped out of their duties, it's unclear what Hoda's plans are. Watch the emotional segment (below): A tip line has been set up: see HERE.
