In a major update on Thursday, authorities there have now confirmed that blood found on the porch of Nancy Guthrie's Arizona home belongs to Nancy herself. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos revealed this result in a press conference, saying the DNA results "came back to Nancy." Ugh. This, days after the 84-year-old was apparently abducted. It's a grim development that adds a terrifying new layer to an already heartbreaking case. And sadly, it does not help investigators figure out who took her. While investigators have not found proof that Nancy is still alive, he said he is refusing to let go of hope. His words at the media scrum were simple, but heavy with meaning: "We believe Nancy is still out there." We do, too. Five days into the search, there are still no named suspects or persons of interest. Every minute matters, too, as authorities appear to be working against the clock with limited information. As the search continues, the confirmation that Nancy's blood was found at her home underscores the seriousness of this case and the fear so many are feeling for her safety. Ugh.
