Madelyn Cline is getting applauded for how she reacted to a tense moment between her director and a female PA on the set of Outer Banks! Back in October, reports came out claiming the Netlfix show's co-creator and director Jonas Pate got into a physical confrontation with a female production assistant on set in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Multiple sources claimed to TMZ that he put his hands on the woman while screaming in her face. Another source for People added: "[Jonas] was screaming at the female production assistant and grabbed her by her shoulders and shook her. He didn't hurt her or try to hurt her. He just crossed a line. Putting your hands on someone is never, ever okay." It is unknown why Jonas aggressively grabbed the PA, though reportedly "tensions were high" on set that day. Regardless, it never should have happened. Grabbing and/or screaming at someone is not OK to do in the workplace or anywhere else, for that matter. Insiders claimed this was not "unusual behavior" for Jonas, though. Ick. Related: Glambot Director FIRED After Controversy With Jennifer Lopez & Viral Email Drama! The PA thankfully had someone on her side. We heard that Chase Stokes jumped in to separate the pair, and Madelyn Cline helped. However, that is not necessarily the case! New footage of the incident now shows that only the leading lady intervened in the clash! In a video obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, the female PA is seen walking through a packed room of mainly what appears to be male cast and crew members. She walks in front of the camera and passes Jonas, and he immediately turns around and grabs her arm, prompting her to turn to look at him. Jonas speaks to the PA, but it is unknown what he said or how he said it since there is no audio with the video. However, it's clear bystanders were stunned in the moment because multiple people in the room turned to watch, and none of them got involved, except for Madelyn. She was sitting down on the opposite side of the camera. But the second the confrontation between Jonas and the PA started, she stood up and walked over with her arm to point at Jonas. The actress continues to talk to the producer, while the PA walks away. The clip then ends there. Chase is nowhere to be found in the video. Whether or not he got involved in the situation after the cameras cut out is unknown. Watch what went down (below): Oof... We also found out more about what led up to the incident. Insiders claimed to TMZ on Wednesday that Jonas repeatedly told the PAs, "Don't walk this way," and not to cross in front of the camera, and he became frustrated when the woman ignored or forgot those orders. The sources insisted he never shook her, nor did he injure her. Watching the video, it's true that it doesn't look like he shook her at all, as sources previously claimed. That doesn't matter, though. What he did was still wrong. Jonas shouldn't have grabbed the PA like that. The sources went on to say the PA was unhappy and taken aback after the situation with Jonas. Meanwhile, a different insider connected to the production shared that the confrontation between Madelyn and Jonas continued after the above video. Wow. Someone needs to roll the tape! We want to know what happened afterward! But in all seriousness, good on Madelyn for sticking up for the PA! It's just sad to see she was the only one to do so! After the video dropped, fans praised the I Know What You Did Last Summer star for intervening. See the reactions (below): "thank u madelyn cline what an odd man" "madelyn cline jumping up, pointing her finger at jonas and confronting him for putting his hands on a young woman while all those men just stand there watching" "In a room full of people, Madelyn was the only one who stood up for her... Bravo Maddie, you're the best!!!" "Maddie being the only one in a room full of people to intervene and help this poor girl - she deserves the world" "Props to Madelyn Cline for immediately getting up to intervene!" "All Those men in the room and the only person to say something was a woman "the number of men who are closer to the director and the assistant and the only one who stood up to intervene was madelyn cline then they complain when we say women are only helped by women here is one of the cases" "a director is supposed to lead, not create scenarios and environments in which actors (or otherwise) have to step in and keep them in check. good on madelyn. and i hope the pa is okay and everything was resolved as needed." "maddie being the only girl and also the only one to jump in- oh we love her" Neither Madelyn nor Jonas has addressed the new footage. What are your thoughts, Perezcious readers?
