Dave Coulier has amazing news! Get ready to celebrate! As you may recall, the Full House alum revealed in December that he was diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma, a type of head and neck cancer, just months after beating non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Dave explained doctors noticed a flare-up during a six-month checkup and PET scan in October, and soon discovered he had cancer at the base of his tongue. The 66-year-old actor went on to undergo 35 rounds of radiation and had a painful robotic surgery to biopsy part of his tongue. He appeared on Good Morning America on Wednesday for World Cancer Day to make the announcement, saying: "It's been a roller coaster ride for sure. I'm in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been." It has been a long and hard one for Dave. He shared with Robin Roberts, a fellow cancer survivor, that treatment took an emotional toll. However, he pushed through it with the help of a positive attitude and his loved ones: "[Radiation] has totally different side effects. It can steal parts of your life away from you, psychologically, emotionally and certainly physically. And I wasn't going to allow cancer to do that. I was going to laugh my way through it and keep the people that I love close to me. And that helps." Dave expressed that his wife, Melissa Bring, has been "amazing through all this." He also credits his former Full House co-star John Stamos for keeping his spirits up during the health battle: "John flew into Michigan, came and visited us, and made me laugh. He's my brother. He wore a bald cap, and when he came around the corner dressed like that, I dropped to the floor laughing. He got COVID while he was staying with us, so we were like two fifth graders sitting in the hallway, talking to each other with walkie talkies. We're very mature!" Aww! What a great friend! Since Dave is in remission with both cancers, he wants to remind everyone to get their regular checkups. It could save your life. He continued: "I feel as though I can help people. I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, believe me. But now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms. Talk to your doctors and get ahead of this. Even though I'm in remission, I feel like cancer's always in the rear-view mirror behind me. 'Ehh, you trying to pass me here?' So early detection really means everything." So true!
