As Perezcious readers know, after Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Arizona home, TMZ and a local outlet received alleged ransom notes. TMZ already reported theirs demanded millions in cryptocurrency to be sent to a specific Bitcoin address by a certain time "or else." Police have yet to confirm if it's real. She said it was "clear after a couple sentences" that it "might not be a hoax." Whoa. She explained: "A lot of it is information that only someone who was holding her for ransom would know. Some very sensitive information and things that people who weren't there when she was taken captive wouldn't know." She noted that authorities are "still looking into the legitimacy" of the note, adding: "We immediately sent that information over to the sheriff's department ... One of the detectives did get back to us and asked us for some more information so that they can start searching for an IP address, things of that nature, to try and figure out what people are responsible here." Mary kept the details of the note private, but said it "included a dollar amount, a deadline" (though she did not share when that deadline was set for), and other details "that only Guthrie's abductor might know, so that definitely raised some red flags."
