Barry Manilow is on the mend after undergoing surgery to remove cancerous tissue on one of his lungs. "I want to share an update with you all. I'm doing great and recovering very well after my surgery," Manilow, 82, wrote in a Wednesday, February 4, statement shared via social media. "I've been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic." Manilow announced in December 2025 that he was diagnosed with lung cancer and needed to undergo surgery to remove a "a cancerous spot" on his left lung. His Quotes About Smoking Before Lung Cancer "With my doctor's guidance and recommendation, however, we have decided to postpone my residency dates at Westgate Las Vegas from February 12-21 so I can stay focused on healing," Manilow said on Wednesday, noting he is still planning on embarking on a tour "that's kicking off at the end of February." He concluded, "Having a few extra weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered! Tickets for the postponed Vegas dates will be refunded." Manilow, who did not reveal the new dates for his Sin City concerts, opened up about his latest health battle late last year. "As many of you know, I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks," he wrote in an Instagram statement at the time. "Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK." It's pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That's the good news. The doctors do not believe it has spread, and I'm taking tests to confirm their diagnosis. So, that's it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns." Manilow underwent the procedure after wrapping his A Gift of Love concert series. "Ironically, I feel great and have no symptoms," he added in his statement. "I'm thankful that my doctors were proactive and ran tests that typically wouldn't be done.
