The View will be welcoming some new - and old - guest cohosts to the "Hot Topics" table during Alyssa Farah Griffin's upcoming maternity leave. Executive producer Brian Teta confirmed to Deadline on Wednesday, February 4, that Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Abby Huntsman will return to the show with an opportunity to serve as cohosts. Other confirmed guest cohosts include Protect Democracy editor Amanda Carpenter, The Talk alum Sheryl Underwood and comedian Whitney Cummings. Teta told Deadline that the selections were "all about a different point of view at the table," as well as people "who are good at this job or who have the potential to be good at this job." 'The View' Cohosts Through the Years and Why They Left He also pointed out that the names were not just about politics, but the range of topic areas that the show covers. "Hot Topics" can oftentimes include discussions on pop culture, parenting, dating and sex. Savannah Chrisley will be the first guest cohost, starting on Tuesday, February 17, after the long President's Day weekend. Chrisley, 28, first confirmed the news in December 2025 during an episode of her "Unlocked" podcast. "I'm so excited for that because I like doing things that challenge me, [and] I like doing things that educate me," she said. "I'm totally going outside of my comfort zone by doing The View. I mean, this is a show that ... these personalities have bashed my family, have bashed me. These are the same women who made a comment to the extent of, 'Wonder what she had to do for those pardons.'" Southern Charm's Cameron Eubanks Was Almost a Cohost on 'The View' After Savannah's parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, received presidential pardons, several of The View hosts slammed President Donald Trump's decision. "I'm going outside my comfort zone by going on a show where there's four or five women who all believe one way - and I believe differently," Savannah said. "I'm excited for it because I know God's hand is going to be on me throughout that entire experience." During the Tuesday, February 3, episode of ABC's daytime talk show, viewers were able to watch Alyssa celebrate her pregnancy with a baby shower filled with gifts and advice from the cohosts. "I'm so grateful," Alyssa said on the show while trying to hold back tears. "They say it takes a village and just knowing I have such a wonderful village at this table, this amazing husband and my family and friends. That meant so much to me." Before signing off for the day, moderator Whoopi Goldberg raised a glass and delivered a toast on behalf of Alyssa's cohosts, which include Sara Haines, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin. 'The View' Expands Hot Topics Into the Weekends With New Streaming Series "Here's to health, happiness and lots of love," Goldberg, 70, said. "A little bit of sleep and a lot of laughs." According to Deadline, last week marked the second most watched week of The View in five years, after the week of the 2024 presidential election. The View airs weekdays on ABC.
