The Today Show is taking serious efforts to protect their stars as Savannah Guthrie's mother remains missing. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was taken from her Arizona home sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Police are following every lead they get to figure out what happened, but so far, they have no suspects. Savannah's been off-air all week, but her NBC co-workers have been following the case closely, with Sheinelle Jones admitting on Tuesday's episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that "behind the scenes" everyone is "rattled" and "shaken" by the situation. While they're doing their best to support their friend in this difficult time, NBC is also looking out for the TV stars! Related: Nancy Guthrie Is Alive, Per Sheriff!! According to several sources who spoke with The US Sun on Tuesday, out of an "abundance of caution" for the well-being of its staff, NBC has enlisted a ton more security. A source shared: "Things are tense at the studio, and that as a result, NBC has stepped up security for on-air talent." They detailed: "NBC has partnered with the NYPD to make sure their staff remains safe, out of an abundance of caution." Another source confirmed that police, as well as private security, are stationed at the Midtown NYC studio and offices to keep people safe. It remains unknown whether this was a targeted attack. Police are also digging into any of Savannah's superfans - particularly those who may have crossed "the line" in the past - to see if there's a possible lead there. Hopefully, the other Today Show hosts have nothing to worry about, but it's always better to be safe than sorry! A tip line has been set up: see HERE. The Sheriff's Department is now offering a reward of up to $2,500 for images, videos, or information that leads to the arrest of a person or people involved in the disappearance.
