The musical revival, which was often one of the top grossing shows in the industry, brought in $1.8 million in its final week (one of its higher grosses but below holiday totals) and played to 99 percent capacity. Liberation also ended its Broadway run Sunday with the highest gross of its run, bringing in $734,237 and playing to a 94 percent capacity crowd at the James Earl Jones Theatre. The play, written by Bess Wohl about second-wave feminism and her mother's experiences in that era, ended its limited run Feb. 1 after opening Oct. 28. While it was universally well-reviewed, the play only started to see bigger audience numbers in the past four weeks. Overall, most shows were recovering from their post-winter storm disruptions the prior week, with grosses up six percent from last week and attendance up 8 percent. Among the shows, Buena Vista Social Club, which opened in March 2025, continues to be a solid performer, bringing in close to $900,000 last week and playing to 94 percent capacity. The show could get a further boost after winning the Grammy Award for best musical theater album Sunday.
