The Public Safety Department sent an email to everyone on campus that same day, explaining that "the guest and the resident student were known to each other." The university added that any forms of assault would not be tolerated on the campus. "Sexual assault is a violation of University policy and the law," the email read, according to The Villanovan. "All forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, dating/domestic violence and stalking, are not tolerated at Villanova.
