[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] The latest tranche of documents released by the US Department of Justice in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein investigation is dropping jaws worldwide. Among the files were photographs that have reignited global scrutiny of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the disgraced former prince once known as Prince Andrew (who is also, of course, the brother of King Charles III). And sadly, the photos are as unsettling as they are stark. Related: Prince Andrew's Family 'Blindsided' By Loss Of Royal Titles Shared publicly on Friday, the newly released images show Andrew in close physical proximity to an unidentified woman whose face has been deliberately obscured. In one photo, the woman is lying clothed on the floor while Andrew bends over her, his hand appearing to rest on her stomach. And in other even more jarring images, he is seen on all fours hovering over her body. There is no provided explanation for what was happening - no date, no location, no additional context offered by the DOJ, and no clue as to who the female might be. We do not know the age. Which, honestly, only deepens our unease. The newly released files also include email exchanges between Epstein and a contact listed as "The Duke," who is widely thought to be Andrew. In messages sent in September 2010, weeks after Epstein completed house arrest for his prior conviction, he allegedly spoke of needing "private time" with Andrew and mentioned traveling with three women. One email suggested bringing the women along "to add some life." According to the docs, "The Duke" allegedly suggested Buckingham Palace as a meeting place, emphasizing the privacy it would afford. Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, had already pleaded guilty in 2008 to solicitation of prostitution, including involving a minor - and his network, his power, and his access to elite circles have continued to unravel long after his death. Public scrutiny of Andrew intensified in 2010 when photographs of him walking with Epstein in NYC's Central Park went public. Later DOJ releases included images of Andrew seated with Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in the trafficking operation. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, yet his public downfall has been relentless. His 2019 BBC interview, meant to address the controversy, instead became infamous for all the worst reasons. Allegations from Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was sex trafficked to Andrew when she was 17, then led to a lawsuit that he ultimately settled out of court. Giuffre, who died by suicide in 2025, also left behind a memoir that renewed focus on her claims and the systems that failed her. In the wake of these ongoing revelations, Andrew was stripped of his military affiliations, patronages, and finally his royal titles, first by Queen Elizabeth and later formally by King Charles. And now, the images released this week land heavily in that same context. Sheesh. Reactions, y'all? Share 'em (below).
