The search is still ongoing to find Savannah Guthrie's mother Nancy, and now her neighbors are speaking out on what the investigation has entailed so far. ICYMI, the Today Show host's 84-year-old mother was reported missing on Sunday afternoon after she was last seen on Saturday night at around 9:45 p.m. local time in Arizona. Cops have already come forward to share that they believe Nancy's home is a "crime scene," though they have not shared specific details. They're urging folks to reach out with tips, stressing that Nancy takes a daily medication and if she does not take her next dose within 24 hours, the consequences could be "fatal." Chilling. Plus, she struggles with mobility, so that would also be harder for her. Now, a neighbor is opening up about the "really strange" circumstances of this disappearance. Morgan Brown, who lives "a quarter of a mile up the street" from Nancy, told Us Weekly on Monday that cops flooded the area initially: "There were a lot of cop cars there at first, and then it was vans, so I assumed that maybe they came across something." Those in the area have been told to "look at our Ring cameras to see if anything popped up out of the ordinary." She claimed authorities are "narrowing it down" to Nancy having disappeared at some point between 1 and 4 a.m. on Sunday morning. So far, she hasn't seen any evidence on her own cameras: "I don't know how they know that. My Ring cameras don't face the street, but I went through them and haven't heard that anyone found anything." "Vans and helicopters" arrived in the area on Sunday afternoon, but they've since left: "I haven't seen anyone there this morning." During a press conference, authorities said that some in-person search efforts had paused to allow teams to get rest after looking all throughout the night. Morgan continued to detail the neighborhood: "They had a helicopter up looking for her. There are no sidewalks in our neighborhood. You just walk on the street and then there's desert, so [they] thought she walked off into the desert or something, but she walks with a cane, so I can't imagine why she would do that. It's desert-y, scrubby mesquite trees and cactus and rocks everywhere." That said, she clarified that "a lot of people walk in that neighborhood," but not usually so early in the morning: "This is the foothills of Tucson. If you step two feet off the road, you are basically in the thick of the cactus. It's not gated at all." The neighborhood has been fairly safe, too, the neighbor explained: "There are quite a bit of retirees and people who have lived in the neighborhood for a while. You don't hear of a lot of weird stuff in the neighborhood." While nobody has any idea what happened, Morgan speculated it could have something to do with Nancy's famous daughter, musing: "I can't imagine what someone would want with an 84-year-old woman. The thought comes to my mind is maybe they are trying to get to Savannah somehow, political or whatnot. It's horrible news." FWIW, the local Sheriff was already asked about this theory in a press conference, and he said that they weren't ruling anything out, though it didn't sound like they had any actual evidence to support that theory at this time.
