The Grammys are the biggest night in music, but several stars skipped the 2026 awards show. The Grammys honored some of the music industry's legendary performers and had multiple fan-favorite musicians take the stage. While it was a star-studded evening at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, there were some notable names missing from the guest list. Ariana Grande was absent from the Grammys despite taking home the win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her Wicked duet with Cynthia Erivo. While Grande, who also did not attend last year's ceremony, did not reveal why she skipped the show, she has been busy with her acting career. Following the release of Wicked: For Good, Grande has multiple projects in the works including Focker In-Law, American Horror Story season 13 and Sunday in the Park With George. Blackpink's Lisa was not in attendance at the awards show. While Lisa (real name Lalisa Manobal) didn't make it, her bandmate Rosé was up for multiple awards for her solo work. She earned three Grammy nominations for her song "APT." with Bruno Mars including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. "She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues." Eric Church Eric Church made the last-minute decision to not attend the Grammys due to an illness. "I'm so disappointed to miss the Grammy Awards tonight due to illness," the country singer wrote via Instagram on Sunday. "I've tried everything to be there in person and unfortunately I can't do it. Timothee Chalamet Timothée Chalamet was nominated for his first-ever Grammy for his work on the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. A Complete Unknown, which Chalamet sang in, was up for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. The actor skipped the ceremony to attend the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards in London instead. Dalai Lama The Dalai Lama won his first Grammy for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording. However, he did not attend the 2026 ceremony and the award was accepted on his behalf by Rufus Wainwright. Miranda Lambert Page Six reported that Miranda Lambert was skipping the 2026 Grammys despite being nominated for Best Contemporary Country Album. George Strait George Strait, who was up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his duet with Chris Stapleton, opted to not attend the 2026 Grammys, per Page Six. Morgan Wallen Page Six reported that Morgan Wallen, who has notably skipped previous award shows in the past, would not be attending the 2026 Grammys. The country singer was not nominated for any awards this year. Ariana Grande While Ariana Grande was not present at the 2026 awards show, she celebrated her and Cynthia Erivo's win. Lisa The Blackpink singer confirmed at the 2026 Golden Globes that she was going to be filming her upcoming movie, Tygo, at the same time as the Grammys. "I have a movie shoot, so I can't be there." Lisa said on the red carpet.
