But both underperformed when it came to wins at Sunday night's ceremony. Carpenter was shut out completely, not winning a single award of the six for which she was nominated. Tyler, the Creator fared slightly better, going one for six but his sole win was for best album cover for Chromakopia, which was presented in the non-televised premiere ceremony where the majority of this year's awards are presented. Like Tyler, the Creator's prize, this award was presented during the premiere ceremony. But Clipse and Pharrell got their time onstage during the CBS telecast on Sunday night. In terms of surprises, Lola Young was an unexpected winner in the best pop solo performance category for "Messy," and the Grammys reminded people to never count out Billie Eilish as she and brother/collaborator Finneas O'Connell won song of the year for "Wildflower." When the Grammy nominations were announced, some were surprised that "Wildflower" was nominated for song and record of the year as it was featured on her most recent album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, released in May 2024, which received nominations at the 2025 Grammys. But since "Wildflower" was released as a single in February 2025, it was eligible for the 2026 Grammys. Eilish is a Grammys fave, winning 10 trophies so far, including sweeping best new artist, song, record and album of the year in 2020. The 2026 Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah in his last time as emcee of the awards show, aired live from Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 1 on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ from 5:00-8:30 p.m. PT.
