Her reps at the Creative Artists Agency later released a statement that O'Hara had died at her home in "following a brief illness." She was 71 years old. Ever since, stars who had the pleasure of working with the exceptional actress during her life have been stepping forward to deliver their tributes to Catherine. Reese wrote: "Feeling so sad about the passing of Catherine O'Hara. Catherine was such an inspiration to me. I worked with her on a movie called Penelope back in 2006, and her creativity was boundless." And then Witherspoon continued: "She never ceased to amaze me with her generosity toward her fellow actors and filmmakers. In real life, she was just as warm and delightful as she seems on film - a pure delight." Witherspoon then said O'Hara's "legacy will live on" thanks to her significant impact on movies throughout the years, before concluding: "I know she's making all the angels laugh."
