Annie Murphy is forever grateful for the laughs she got to share and lessons she learned from the great Catherine O'Hara. The actress passed away on Friday at the age of 71 following a brief illness. The news rocked Hollywood - and it absolutely devastated the cast of Schitt's Creek, many of whom took to social media or elsewhere to mourn her loss. Now, Annie, who played Catherine's on-screen daughter Alexis Rose, is breaking her silence on the tragedy. She wrote in the caption: "Ha-ha-HAAAA?!?! Her laugh was a perpetual Yes, And... It challenged anyone who heard it to join in, and be as delighted as she was. Gosh, were we ever lucky to have her. #goodbyetoagreatactress" On the third slide, Annie also included a note about all the lessons she learned from Catherine over the years. She said: "She would have never presumed to call herself a teacher (too self-deprecating, too Canadian), but holy f**k, was I ever a student. Here are a few Coles Notes for those who want to study: Giggles always. Jokes first. As long as they feel right in your bones. When you find the people you love and make you laugh, stick with your lovers and laughers. Everybody on set is a part of a community who (ideally) wants to make something great - treat them as such. Make suggestions, even if that means overstepping sometimes. Acknowledge if it doesn't work. Be appreciative to those who appreciate when it does." Wow. Catherine taught Annie so much.
