An intoxicated teen who drove off after mowing down an accomplished Wisconsin marathoner out for her morning run initially blamed the victim for the deadly incident. Addison Bowell, 18, was 17 on March 29, 2025, when she killed Ann Seidl of Eau Claire, who was 54. Bowell was turned in by her own mother, after she returned home heavily intoxicated and rambling about another car she had hit "so hard." Later, as she was being questioned by investigators, Bowell asked if someone had died as a result of her actions. When they confirmed Seidl was dead, the teen is said to have replied, "[W]ho walks on the road at 3 in the morning?... like... bro." She also asked the police, "[S]o, am I going to get out or not?" Seidl is survived by three sons. She was a gifted marathon runner, who was doing what she loved when she was killed. Tailgating Wisconsin Teen Accused of Beating Slower Driving Elderly Man The teen was in a Dunn County Court on Thursday, January 29, and entered guilty pleas to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, homicide by vehicle using controlled substances and homicide by use of vehicle while legally intoxicated. The teen's $100,000 cash bond was revoked, according to local reports. She still faces a hit-and-run involving a death charge. A final pre-trial hearing for the hit-and-run case is scheduled for May 14 with a trial scheduled to commence the week of June 22, Us Weekly confirmed. She will be sentenced for the three homicide charges once her pending case is resolved. The hit-and-run was reported to police after someone noticed Seidl in a ditch along a roadway in Dunn. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Bowell's mother called 911 and told them her daughter came home drunk around 6:15 a.m. that morning and said she thought she hit another vehicle. Her mother conceded there was damage to the car. She then started her drive to work and also saw Seidl on the side of the road. She explained to police her daughter suffers from depression and refuses to quit drinking. The trunk of her car, according to police, was hiding multiple empty cases of alcoholic beverages and an empty bottle of vodka. Virginia Teen And Her Grandmother Were Killed in Car Crash on Christmas Day Bowell initially refused to speak to police, telling them she "didn't want to deal with this." However, the girl later admitted that she'd been drinking "a lot" at a friend's house before getting behind the wheel. She insisted that she was not drunk, though. Bowell said she knew she had hit something on her drive home because she had heard a thud but did not know what it was. She admitted she did not stop to see what she hit and told police she was on her phone at the time and not concentrating on the road. Bowel's mother told police her daughter was also a marijuana user and that she had tried to get the girl counseling. She also tried enlisting the teen in a military camp. Bowell told police that "I drank a lot" before getting into her vehicle.
