Catherine O'Hara made people laugh from the moment she began acting in the '70s - and fans were treated to five decades worth of comedic brilliance before her death in January 2026. O'Hara burst onto the scene in 1974 as part of Second City's comedy club. While on Canada's SCTV in the late '70s, she met longtime friend Eugene Levy, whom she later starred alongside in Best in Show, For Your Consideration and Pop TV's Schitt's Creek. O'Hara's personal life was its own Hollywood fairy tale. In addition to 1988's Beetlejuice making her a bonafide movie star, it led O'Hara to the man of her dreams, husband Bo Welch. After uprooting her life for love, the Home Alone star struck gold playing Kate McAllister in the 1990 holiday hit and its subsequent 1992 sequel.
