"I swear to god, I can show you right now," Alex exclusively told Erin Lim Rhodes during Live From E! Stream: Spotify Best New Artist Party 2026 on Jan. 29, recalling that the email said, "So sorry for emailing you. My New Year's resolution is to email you less." And though Alex may be making light of their communication habits, he insisted that he really does plan to pull back. "My New Year's resolution is to email him less," the 25-year-old admitted. Indeed, after he discovered he was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys, he revealed that he made sure to reach out to fellow nominees Lola Young, Katseye, The MarĂ­as, Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean and sombr to congratulate them on the incredible honor. "Or I tried to FaceTime as many as I could, and I got a few of them. I had an amazing conversation with sombr and Addison." For the former Hype House member, showing his support for other artists is simply part of his nature. "I'm such a people person," Alex noted, "and I love how everyone's art, like, if you look at the best new artists, all of us are different, and I love that so much." He added, "And I know I was s--tting myself so I wanted to make sure everyone else was good." The 2026 Grammys will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
