[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content] There has finally been an update in the abuse case of Cashel Barnett. As we previously reported, the Love Island USA alum was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, and domestic violence in the presence of a child in Salt Lake City, Utah, back in May 2025. His baby momma - whose name is unknown - filed a police report claiming he assaulted her the month prior. However, the reality star allegedly slapped her arms away and followed her into a bedroom before picking her up by her neck and slamming her onto the bed. According to the report, Cashel put "continuous pressure" on her neck, so she was "unable to breathe." Her "vision went blurry," as well. TMZ reported that The Challenge: USA star also forced his hands down her pants. When his ex-girlfriend tried to kiss him back, he resisted, allegedly saying what he was doing was punishment. Per the report, he then asked: "Is this what you f**king want?" This allegedly happened in the presence of their 1-year-old child. Awful. Cashel has denied the allegations, and he has been behind bars since at least May. Now, it appears he has copped a plea deal. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Monday, Cashel agreed to plead guilty to one count of third-degree felony aggravated assault and one count of third-degree felony domestic violence in the presence of a child. He also pled guilty to second-degree felony forcible sexual abuse in a separate case connected to the prior. The television personality is scheduled to be sentenced on March 16, but we already have an idea of what the punishment could be. The documents indicate that prosecutors in Utah are seeking one year in jail, followed by probation. And that's it. What does his ex think? A source close to the alleged victim revealed to TMZ that she isn't totally happy about the outcome! The insider said the baby momma told prosecutors she didn't think the plea deal was fair, but if that was the best offer, she is OK with it to avoid a trial and retraumatization. It's not the result she likely expected. But hopefully, with the case nearly over, the mother of his child can now focus on healing from this horrible situation.
