I sent you a dm because I wrote a screenplay about hormones and menopause and know you'd be the right person to talk to about it! Hope you're having a great day!" X @JordinSparks / Via x.com And this post has already been seen more than 1.3 million times, with many people replying to and quote-tweeting it to call Jordin out for, effectively, "calling Halle Berry old." One popular reply to the tweet reads: "She said you geriatric sis @halleberry," while another asked: "now why would you mention what it was about in your tweet, keep it in the dms." After all, Halle has been incredibly vocal about her menopause experience in recent years, and has devoted herself to raising awareness around menopause in a bid to break the stigma surrounding it. And If anything, the response to this tweet seems to prove that we still have a long way to go. Michael M. Santiago / Getty Images Halle even owns a women's wellness business called Respin Health, which is focused on "redefining menopause and longevity," and has been incredibly outspoken about the importance of taking women's health seriously. Back in 2024, Halle sat down with Jill Biden at a Los Angeles event, where she revealed that she had been mistakenly told she had herpes when she first started to experience symptoms of perimenopause. Speaking incredibly candidly, Halle admitted that she believed she was going to "skip" menopause because of her "ego," before stating: "You don't skip it. But I was so [uneducated] at that time. I wish I knew then what I know now." Denise Truscello / Getty Images Halle then recalled meeting her boyfriend Van Hunt at the age of 54, and how they were enjoying a "great" sex life, until one day she woke up in severe pain. She shared: "So one day, we're having sex like normal. I wake up in the morning, I go to the bathroom, and guess what? I feel like I have razor blades in my vagina." She noted that both she and Van had previously been tested, and further tests confirmed that neither of them had herpes. Halle added: "I realized, after the fact, that [the sensation] is a symptom of perimenopause." I have to use all of who I am, and I have to start making a change and a difference,'" she continued at the time. Gavin Newsom for vetoing the Menopause Care Equity Act, which would have made it much easier for people experiencing the effects of perimenopause and menopause to receive appropriate medical treatments. This marked the second consecutive year that the law was vetoed. Mario Tama / Getty Images Halle had publicly backed the bill, and delivered a seriously raw speech at the New York Times's DealBook Summit, where she said: "In 2025, there is a lot to still be talked about and discovered and uncovered, especially if you are a woman who is navigating midlife and thoughtfully considering your longevity, because in 2025, I, Halle Berry, and women of my age are simply devalued in this country."
