by Chelsea StewartBuzzFeedBuzzFeed Staff Last week, a series of private text messages involving Blake Lively were unsealed amid the actor's ongoing legal dispute with her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni. Mike Marsland / Getty Images, Nbc / Getty Images Blake sued Justin in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation, which Justin denied. He later countersued Blake, her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and the couple's publicist, Leslie Sloane, for alleged extortion and defamation - claims Blake denied. Justin's suit was dismissed in June 2025, while Blake's case is expected to go to trial in May. Jose Perez / Getty Images Some of the newly unsealed messages are from Taylor Swift, a longtime friend of Blake's who was previously named as a possible witness in the case. Gotham / Getty Images According to documents reviewed by BuzzFeed, Blake texted Taylor asking her to endorse her revised script for It Ends With Us. Taylor allegedly responded, "I'll do anything for you !!" Gotham / Getty Images The messages also show the two criticizing Justin, with Blake purportedly calling him a "doofus director" and "clown" and Taylor allegedly referring to him as a "bitch." Richard Bord / Getty Images In another exchange, Blake allegedly shared how she felt like "a bad friend" amid the legal battle, writing, "I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own shit for months. You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it. But I still have a feeling something may not be right." Robert Kamau / Getty Images Taylor replied that it was "not a big deal," but said she had been feeling "a shift" in the way Blake talked to her, comparing the messages to "a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees." Ignat / Getty Images "You said the word 'we' like 18 times," Taylor allegedly added. "And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you've been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like. A plural unit." Axelle / Getty Images Blake reportedly agreed that Taylor was "right" and apologized. While Taylor has not publicly addressed the unsealing of the messages, a source tells People that the situation left her feeling "uncomfortable." Gotham / Getty Images "Taylor feels like her privacy was impacted," the source said. "Anyone would be uncomfortable if their private texts were suddenly made public." Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Images "[Taylor] was just being a friend to Blake, and it's turned into something bigger than she ever expected," the source continued. "She never thought private messages would become public." Gotham / Getty Images According to the source, now, "Taylor is just trying to stay away from the drama." Axelle / Getty Images Reps for Taylor did not comment on the report. However, her spokesperson previously denied she had any involvement in the film, saying, "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history."
