The doctor who is being sued by The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton over an alleged chemical peel gone wrong is fighting back in court, Us Weekly can exclusively report. On December 19, 2025, Jing Jing Wong Harris, M.D. denied all allegations of wrongdoing in the suit brought by Morton. The doctor said any injuries that Morton, 43, suffered were the result of other persons outside of their control. Harris said she was present and supervising when a nurse applied a chemical peel to Morton's body. Harris admitted that Morton expressed discomfort during the peel and that she sprayed a neutralizing spray on the RHOA's back after she complained. The doctor also admitted that Morton experienced an unforeseen reaction to the peel, but denied any liability for the injuries. The doctor demanded the entire lawsuit be thrown out of court. RHOA's Porsha Williams' Ex Demands $500k Over Erectile Dysfunction Posts As Us first reported, Morton filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against Jing Jing Wong Harris, M.D., Harris' company, Pretty Faces Atlanta, and various other defendants. The RHOA star claimed she was "negligently burned" during a chemical peel that caused extensive permanent scarring. Shamea Morton's Alleged Injuries Fulton County Superior Court Morton said she went to Pretty Faces Atlanta on March 13, 2024. She said the doctor's office should have never performed a chemical peel due to her "diagnosis of Tinea Versicolor, which is a fungal condition." She said the doctor and her team should have referred her to a dermatologist. The reality star's lawsuit said even if Morton did not have Tinea Versicolor, the peel, especially two passes, was "completely inappropriate" due to her "African American skin, even if she had simple hyperpigmentation, especially due to the lack of any skin prep and attempt at pigment correction with medical-grade skincare and much less aggressive treatments than what was performed." Morton claimed another party who worked in the office used too strong of a chemical peel on her back and arms. She said the chemical peel was done without the doctor's supervision, which led to her receiving "second degree burns, blistering and permanent scarring." The Bravo star alleged that she "cried in pain" while at the office. "When [Morton] reported intense pain to [Harris], [Harris] told her that she was being dramatic." Morton said the doctor applied an unknown solution from a spray bottle. "Harris never consulted, examined, or approved the treatment plan for [Morton] prior to the application of the chemical peel," the lawsuit read. The lawsuit, brought by attorney Darren M. Tobin, demanded unspecified damages. She was eventually hired as a main cast member in season 16. In November, Morton teased her return to RHOA in season 17, alongside Porsha Williams and Drew Sidora.
