Despite what you'd think with all the recent drama between the Beckhams and the Peltzes, the billionaire heiress wasn't always on her mother-in-law's s**t list! In fact, back when Brooklyn Beckham first started seeing Nicola, Victoria and David Beckham seemed to really like her! So what gives? How did all this sweetness turn so sour? Well, according to a source for People from the Peltz POV, the reason things got so bad was because of Victoria allegedly being toxic. The insider said on Tuesday: "Victoria and Nicola got along in the first few months, but then Victoria started acting like a jealous girlfriend. She seemed so jealous of Nicola." Oof! But a source for the Beckhams argued that it was actually Nicola who was being toxic: "Nicola is the one who is jealous of Victoria. She wants to be famous." This is not the first time we've heard reports like this! Sources have claimed Victoria was being jealous and pushy, but others have claimed Nicola was willing to do anything for fame. So, maybe they're both a little in the wrong?? Tensions grew worse during wedding preparations when Victoria, who initially agreed to design the bride's dress, pulled out at the last minute, claiming she was "too busy" when Nicola asked about fittings and fabric selections, a Petlz family source alleged. Apparently, the Spice Girls alum called Nicola's mother, Claudia, to break the news that she could not make the dress. Oof. She couldn't even tell her future daughter-in-law herself? Damn. Nicola wore a custom Valentino dress, which she previously said took a year to plan. Another insider claimed she was always meant to wear two dresses. On top of that, multiple sources just say the Peltzes and Beckhams never blended properly, with Nicola's folks being super private and wealthy, while Brooks' fam is always in the spotlight: "Their families are so different." The Beckhams are fame-focused - causing them to "be strategic and smart about moves they make," another insider noted - and Peltz fam just can't relate to that! While things look bad for the Beckham family amid this ongoing rift, an insider insisted David and Victoria "always supported Brooklyn in everything." Everything except this marriage, it would seem!
