Blake Lively added well-known lawyer Sigrid McCawley to her legal team ahead of her trial against Justin Baldoni. In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni, accusing her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her. Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations and countersued Lively. Baldoni's lawsuit was dismissed by a judge in June 2025. While Baldoni's case was thrown out, Lively's case proceeded. As Lively prepared for the May 2026 court date, she hired McCawley to join her team.
