Blake Lively added well-known lawyer Sigrid McCawley to her legal team ahead of her trial against Justin Baldoni. In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni, accusing her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her. Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations and countersued Lively. Baldoni's lawsuit was dismissed by a judge in June 2025. While Baldoni's case was thrown out, Lively's case proceeded. As Lively prepared for the May 2026 court date, she hired McCawley to join her team. Included in the documents were text messages between Lively and close friend Taylor Swift. "Blake has worked very hard to protect her friends, the acquaintances she had along the way. This case is not about those individuals," McCawley said in a video obtained by TMZ in January 2026. "This case is about her performing her job in the workplace and being subject to sexual harassment." Sigrid McCawley Worked With Jeffrey Epstein Victims Boies Schiller Flexner began representing Virginia Giuffre in 2014. Giuffre, who died in April 2025 by suicide, was a victim of Jeffrey Epstein. Sigrid McCawley was assigned to the case because of her past experience volunteering for abuse victims in foster care. In 2015, McCawley filed a defamation lawsuit for Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell who was later convicted of offenses in connection with Epstein. The lawsuit was settled and Giuffre received an undisclosed settlement amount. McCawley was also one of Giuffre's attorneys in her lawsuit against Prince Andrew. McCawley got a $155 million settlement following a decade-long litigation battle. McCawley's team also litigated a securities fraud class action suit against oil service company Halliburton.
