The Wheel of Fortune star announced via Instagram in January 2026 that she married her longtime love in a surprise wedding. John Donaldson was born and raised in Santa Monica, California. Unlike Vanna White, he's not in the entertainment business, instead working in construction. According to his website, Donaldson knew he wanted a career in construction from a young age. He started out as a laborer in the San Fernando Valley, packing lumber for $5 per hour on a commercial jobsite. He then moved on to a role as a carpenter and sought work on framing crews in the area. Eventually, Donaldson became lead foreman at a construction and development company, working on high-end custom homes in the Hollywood Hills.
