And this week, Kim Kardashian is officially over it! The SKIMS queen is speaking out loud and clear about the nonstop criticism she's been getting over daughter North West's fashion choices... and let's just say she is not here for the mom-shaming. ICYMI (how could you?!), backlash over North's appearance has exploded in recent months after videos showed her rocking fake tattoos, a nose piercing, grillz and more. Some commenters have labeled the whole thing sad and told her to "go be a kid," while headlines across the internet screamed concern. Kim and North's joint TikTok account once clapped back by calling the outrage "such a non-issue," and Kim later doubled down on Call Her Daddy a couple months back, praising North's confidence and maturity. On the latest episode of Khloé in Wonder Land, Kim, 45, sat down with sister Khloé Kardashian and opened up about what it's really like parenting a wildly creative 12-year-old under the harshest spotlight imaginable. The conversation quickly turned to North's bold style moves, including colorful hair, fake tattoos, and even a dermal piercing that sent certain corners of the internet into full meltdown mode. Kim didn't mince words when addressing the judgment coming from all sides, explaining that people simply don't understand what she and her daughter deal with behind the scenes: "I'm just not a judgmental person like that, so I try not to pay attention to it. But, I think that no one knows unless they're in my shoes what I'm dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world or even close in our life that we have to go through together." Translation: unless you're raising a kid while the entire world comments on her face, body, and vibe, maybe sit this one out. One of the biggest misconceptions Kim wanted to shut down is the idea that she's trying to be North's "bestie" instead of her mom. According to Kim, that couldn't be further from the truth: "I think like the one misconception that people might have is like, 'Oh, she's trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot.' Like, no, Northy actually has a lot of rules. [That's the] one area I do let her express herself. I love her for that, and she would do it, you know, regardless." Welp! Consider that narrative officially debunked. To that same end, Kim also revealed that North's edgy fashion sense didn't just pop up overnight, despite what critics seem to think: "It's funny, like people are like, 'Oh, this blue hair, all of this, all of a sudden,' or like her fake piercings that she puts up. I have pictures of her when we're in first grade [and] pre-K, where she'd come with like a fake septum ring and she has her green braids and she has pink braids. But she's always loved the colored braids in her hair since she was little." Receipts! Sounds like this is not a phase - it's a personality! Kimmy Kakes wrapped it all up by making it crystal clear that North knows exactly who she is, and always has: "Like she really is who she is and always has been that girl.
