Prince Harry is coming to the defense of Meghan Markle during his legal fight with the UK tabloids! The Duke of Sussex is back in the UK, testifying in his ongoing trial against the Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday. Perezcious readers know he is one of seven claimants, including Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley, suing the publisher for alleged unlawful information gathering. Associated Newspapers vehemently denied the allegations, though. Related: Prince William Is The Future King Of England And He Can't Do THIS?! Their nine-week trial finally kicked off in London's High Court this week. Harry sat down for a nearly two-hour testimony on Wednesday, which ended with him on the verge of tears as he defended Meg. According to People, the 41-year-old royal's voice broke as he turned toward the judge and opened up about the terrible way the media has treated his wife over the years "By standing up here and taking a stand against them, this has continued to come after me. And they have made my wife's life an absolute misery, my Lord." Oof. That's heartbreaking to hear. When asked about the impact of the press coverage during the legal battle, Harry claimed the situation had only worsened. He told the court: "Through the course of this litigation, it's only got worse, not better. It's fundamentally wrong to put all of us through all of this again. What's required is an apology and some accountability. It's a horrible experience." Whether Prince Harry and Meghan will get justice for how they've been allegedly mistreated by the UK tabloids, we'll find out at the end of the trial. However, we still have a long road ahead before we learn the final verdict in the lawsuit. A spokesperson for the Archewell Philanthropies co-founder went on to say after the emotional proceedings: "Today's cross-examination was revealing in its weakness: assertive in tone, but collapsing immediately under scrutiny from Prince Harry. Associated couldn't wait to get him off the stand, questioning him for just 2 hours and avoiding 10 of his 14 articles entirely." Prince Harry also weighed in on the case, adding: "Today we reminded the Mail Group who is on trial and why." At this time, Meghan hasn't reacted to her hubby's passionate defense - though who knows if she will say anything about the suit right now or ever!
