OMG! This sounds messy! Karamo Brown skipped out on Queer Eye press with his castmates on Tuesday, citing alleged mental and emotional abuse he's endured for "years" as the reason he was protecting his peace. Intense! His cast mates expressed their support for his decision, but admitted it was a shock to them. According to Gayle King, CBS Mornings producers were only informed of his absence less than an hour before airtime! She also noted his assistant said in their correspondence that he didn't attend because he was also "worried about getting bullied." Oof. Well, now we're learning why Karamo skipped - and it confirms another big Queer Eye rift! According to TMZ sources on Wednesday, all this stemmed from a hot mic moment on set! Sources familiar with the situation said that Karamo, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and Jeremiah Brent - the fab five of the final season - were all shooting in Washington DC last summer. The culture expert brought his mom to set one day for a visit, and production set her up with headphones to watch the filming from a nearby location. At one point during the day, Karamo stepped away from the group - and that's when Antoni, Tan, and JVN were caught speaking negatively about him, including criticizing some of his lifestyle choices! WTF! Sadly, Karamo's momma overheard it all, and she later told her son what happened. How heartbreaking for her! It's unclear exactly what was said, but the incident caused an instant falling out, and Karamo has been on the outs with those three cast members ever since. Damn. He appears to still be fine with Jeremiah, the only current cast member he still follows on Instagram. He also follows Bobby Berk, who was replaced by Jeremiah after his contentious exit and own rift with Tan. JVN has also faced allegations of being a "monster" on set. So, yeahhhhh, this show has certainly not been without its controversies. It's sad to see things end like this! BTW, things must still be pretty tense because the former talk show host didn't even give Netflix a heads up of his decision to bag the live interviews! Apparently, when Netflix PR reps arrived at CBS Mornings, it was the CBS producers who told them Karamo wouldn't be attending! Wow!
