Carr, famed in Britain for his role as the host of talk show Chatty Man and later, as a winning traitor on the hit reality show, is ready to take on the biggest gig of his life: purchasing and running a historic castle. Disney+ will follow Carr on his property search in the brand-new series produced by Expectation, the team behind Clarkson's Farm and Alma's Not Normal, with filming to start in Scotland on Jan. 22. "He has long dreamed of owning a grand château, but after a transformative and iconic stay at The Traitors' castle, that fantasy will now become a reality - or will it? He doesn't just want to visit a castle, he wants to build a life in one, a leap of faith driven entirely by Alan himself." Carr said: "Some men, when they have a midlife crisis, buy a Lamborghini or grow a ponytail, but me? I want my very own castle. Since I was a boy in Northampton, I've always dreamt big, and have always been enchanted with the history and romance of a stately home and as I turn fifty, I feel it's my time. All I want is a turret to call my own - get me over that drawbridge!" Disney+ boss Sean Doyle added that Carr is "one of those rare talents who brings instant warmth, wit, and originality to everything he touches." "We've watched him turn his hand to stand-up, gameshows, podcast, and presenting, but when we discovered he was looking to purchase a castle to run, we knew this was a journey we had to follow. Expect Alan in new territory, with all the same riotous entertainment you know and love," Doyle said. Castle Man is produced by Expectation co-CEO Peter Fincham, as well as Ben Wicks, Claire Walls, and Danny Julian, who are executive producers. Alan Carr also serves as executive producer. The series was commissioned out of the U.K. for Disney+ by Angela Jain, head of content, and Sean Doyle, vp, unscripted, EMEA.
