Bobby Flay's girlfriend, Brooke Williamson, confessed she was a bit perplexed after he gifted her a diamond ring just months into their relationship. "I mean, imagine opening like a little blue box with a giant diamond ring inside, and on a park bench on a beautiful day in London, Regent's Park, in the Japanese garden. It was a perfect day," Williamson, 47, said during the Monday, January 19, episode of the "Bobby on the Beat" podcast. Williamson said she blurted out, "What the f*** is this?" and felt that the gift was "a little bit confusing in the moment." Flay, 61, explained that he gave Williamson a ring as a "sign of commitment" because he views her as his "life partner." He also revealed that diamonds have a rich history in his family, as he comes from a line of jewelers, making the gift all the more special. Bobby Flay and 'Life Partner' Brooke Williamson Tell All About Their Romance "One of the things that people that really know me know, and most people don't know, is that my family has been in the diamond business for a long time. ... My grandfather Willie Flay started a diamond business in the Diamond Exchange, which was Bowery and Canal Street," Bobby shared. Bobby's grandfather died 25 years ago, leaving the business to Bobby's cousin Billy to carry on the legacy. The Beat Bobby Flay star said that everyone he knows goes to Billy whenever they are looking to buy jewelry. Naturally, Bobby called on his cousin for help when he decided he wanted to give Williamson a diamond sparkler. "Did he ask you what it was for?" Williamson asked Bobby, to which he replied, "I said, 'I need a ring,' and you have to understand something: I've been married three times. I've gotten a few rings from him, and for a while I was banned from buying rings from him. I got cut off from the diamond rings." Bobby was married to Debra Ponzek from 1991 to 1993, Kate Connelly from 1995 to 1998 and Stephanie March from 2005 to 2015. The Food Network personality shares 29-year-old daughter Sophie with Connelly. Williamson, for her part, was married to Nick Roberts from 2007 to 2024, and they share one son, Hudson, 17. (Us confirmed Bobby and Williamson were dating in March 2025.) "Obviously he had met you and I said to him, 'I need a ring,'" Bobby continued of turning to his cousin for jewelry advice. "There was no hesitation. He was like, 'Come down.' So I visited him because I wanted to show people out there what it's like to buy a ring like this." Bobby sweetly asked Williamson, who responded, "It's gorgeous. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect." "You're happy with it?" he said, with Williamson gushing, "I'm very happy with it." The pair also shared another hopeful update on their relationship. "What did I call you the other day? My romantic partner," Williamson asked as Flay echoed, "Yeah, exactly. We're a permanent couple - let's put it that way." "Sounds so permanent," Williamson added. Bobby and Williamson initially sparked engagement speculation when she shared a photo via her Instagram Stories wearing the ring in October 2025. The following month, he confirmed the ring was not an engagement ring. "It's a commitment ring. I'm not engaged," Bobby clarified during a November 2025 appearance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. "We both don't want to get married again," he continued. "It's OK. So, like, it's great having a life partner. And so I wanted to give her something significant to make her feel committed. That's all."
