Coming out of the first holiday weekend of the year, Netflix may have its first blockbuster of 2026 as well. The Rip, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, is currently sitting at the top of Netflix's most popular movie chart. And with that film's star power, it probably could have hit No. 1 at the box office as well. That flick is the top pick among Watch With Us' three most popular Netflix movies that you need to watch right now. Our remaining choices for the week include an unusual romance story and the most famous spy in the world. New on Netflix in January 2026 - The Full List of Movies and TV Shows 'The Rip' (2026) The Rip opens with the murder of someone close to Lieutenant Dane Dumars (Matt Damon) and Detective Sergeant JD Byrne (Ben Affleck), and whether one of these two men was involved with the crime is an open question. Their entire Tactical Narcotics Team comes under suspicion when they investigate stash house that's supposed to have hundreds of thousands in dirty drug money hidden away. However, the illicit funds number in the millions, not thousands. For that kind of money, even honest cops like Detective Lolo Salazar (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Detective Numa Baptiste (Teyana Taylor) seem tempted to pocket the cash. Detective Mike Ro (Steven Yeun) isn't sure who to trust when Dane and JD clash over the jackpot. There are already killers on the way to claim the drug money for themselves. But these cops may have to watch their backs on the inside as well. The Rip is streaming on Netflix. 'A Big Bold Beautiful Journey' (2025) A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is a romantic fantasy featuring Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie as David and Sarah, a pair of strangers who meet at a wedding. At this point in their lives, David and Sarah have kind of given up on dating and finding a soulmate, but their destinies seem to be linked by their enigmatic car rental company. 11 Must-Watch Rom-Com Movies on Netflix (January 2026): 'Oh, Hi!' and More As David and Sarah travel together back to the airport, they find themselves transported across space and time to places that were important to them. They even encounter lost loves and relive heartbreaks while experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime journey that can never truly be repeated. The universe has given them a second chance to find happiness, but it's still their choice whether they'll walk through that door together or separately. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is streaming on Netflix. 'Skyfall' (2012) All of the James Bond films are coming to Netflix this week, and they'll be sticking around long enough for fans to relive 007's cinematic adventures. But with 25 to choose from, we're going with the best of the modern Bond movies, Skyfall. In his third outing as James Bond, Daniel Craig's super spy was physically and emotionally vulnerable in a way we've rarely seen. After a near-death experience, Bond thinks he's left MI6 behind for good. But when a terrorist, Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem), targets MI6, Bond's ex-boss, M (Judi Dench), and the entire United Kingdom, then 007 doesn't really have a choice. Silva's viciousness may be more than Bond can handle, unless he can find a way to turn the former's technological advantage against him. Adele's Oscar-winning theme song from the film will tell you what happens next, if you listen closely. Skyfall will stream on Netflix on January 21.
