As Perezcious readers know, the 26-year-old broke his silence on his family feud in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, detailing exactly what led to his estrangement from his family and declaring he's done - with no desire to reconcile. Like, ever. Damn! The statement may have come on suddenly for fans, but it was a long time coming for Brooklyn. Sources told DailyMail.com on Tuesday that the amateur photographer grew unhappy over Christmas when his holiday was overshadowed by all the press releases his parents were sending out to the media, much of which was very negative towards him and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn blocked them, sparking a ton of media speculation, and there were even reports he cut off his upset grandparents (though later reports confirmed he's in touch with them). It was then revealed last week that Brooklyn sent his parents a legal letter over the summer, asking that they refrain from discussing him on social media and direct all outreach to his lawyers. He wanted distance, and they just weren't giving it to him! Those close to Brooklyn and Nicola feel David and Victoria made a series of "idiotic miscalculations" after privately going after Nicola following their wedding. An insider shared: "They just didn't stop. They just kept pushing and pushing it. Brooklyn didn't want to do this, but in the end he thought screw it." And while he spilled a lot of tea, insiders cautioned there's a lot more he could've said - and still might: "The biggest problem for the other side is that there is so much more that Brooklyn can say if he wants to... Since the Christmas blocking, David and Victoria have made matters worse by sending messages online - including via a video in which they were seen dancing to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb's song Guilty, with lyrics like, "We've got nothing to be guilty of." The video was posted the day after Christmas, and it's this kind of behavior that's only making the rift worse, a friend of the young couple's pointed out: "I believe that David and Victoria care about him, but this is not the way you try to win someone back." While the hot sauce entrepreneur once hoped for an apology, he's seemingly given up on that. Something else that pushed him over the edge? Apparently, a recent DailyMail.com article that was published on Saturday about how he wanted to reconcile with the athlete and fashion designer, and that he'd fired his crisis PR team after his heiress wife became "obsessed" with "getting back at David and Victoria." However, the Peltz-Beckham camp denied any of that being true. As for how Victoria is handling this mess, the outlet confirmed she switched her Instagram settings so that only people she approves can comment. That change happened before Brooklyn's statement, but it's coming in handy now to avoid some of the chaos on her page. A Beckham source added: "She was on a war footing. The Beckhams have a much bigger and better image than the Peltz family and this has not been a fair war. The Beckhams have been famous for so long and they know how to turn the narrative. This though is a major bomb - I'm sure Victoria will have been screaming." The friend also claimed Victoria invited some of Brooklyn's ex-girlfriends to fashion shows and offered to dress them - something Brooklyn alluded to in his message. Jeez.
