Well, it's finally happening. According to new reports, The Kelly Clarkson Show is heading towards its grand finale. Oh no! Rumors swirled all last year that Kelly Clarkson was ready to call it quits on her daytime series after missing a ton of shows. Eventually, the answer for her absence was heartbreakingly clear: her ex-husband and the father of her two children, Brandon Blackstock, was privately battling cancer. He sadly passed away in August. Soon after, she returned to the NBC show, but now, it looks like she may have reached the end of the road. Since her contract expires this year, many don't think she'll re-up for more episodes! Oof. For a while, it sounded like Kelly was the one who was over the grueling schedule and strict HR mandates, but it seems like that's not the only thing at play. The source elaborated: "[Her show] is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it's not sustainable anymore." Damn! So this is just a budget cut?? Ouch! Last year, there were rumors that Hoda Kotb was in the running to replace Kelly, but another confidant insisted nothing has been decided at this time. That said, there is buzz all around 30 Rock! But the source cautioned: "People are jumping the gun. ... Nothing is definite yet, and it's a still a long season." Hmm. We'll have to wait and see what happens. After everything she's been through, we wouldn't be shocked if she wants to take a step back to focus on her children! But we hope it's her decision - and not a result of budget cuts!
