Lo attended the awards show last week and, of course, stopped for a turn at E!'s beloved glambot. However, fans were dismayed by the behind-the-scenes video, which showed her looking totally standoffish! Fans were totally offended by her attitude, writing on Instagram: "my favorite part was when she didn't look at, speak to, or smile at you" "Imagine thinking you're too good or too big to speak and acknowledge the person who has the platform you voluntarily wanna be apart of! Like girl get some class!" "She didn't slay this!" "I bet she did this because she didn't think you had a big following or well known. She seems the type to only smile and be nice if you're somehow important in the industry. Little did she know, Cole is the king of the awards shows and 10 million plus people just saw how she really is behind the scenes" "Jesus Cole, did Jlo even speak a word to you?" "Wow that was rude" "She doesn't like people to look her in the eye .... I HEARD" "Glad I'm not the only one that didn't like this attitude ???? Just skip her next time." SO many were on Cole's side - and yet, now he's coming out of the woodwork to defend Jenny from the Block! Taking to social media on Sunday, the filmmaker insisted he didn't take Jennifer's cold interaction "personally," explaining: "I didn't take it personally. It didn't feel rude in that moment." Cole reminded fans that celebrities are "at work" when they're at award shows, and they have dozens of people shouting at them and telling them what to do as they make their way down the red carpet. It can be overwhelming! As for what happened with Ben Affleck's ex-wife, Cole speculated the online narrative blew up partially because there were "a couple things [that] added to the fuel of this idea," he reflected: "One, she's just down to business. The carpet was closed. She's ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position, and I think it was just like unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me. So, I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she's getting ready for the move. In the moment, I'm not like, 'Hey, turn around and look.' I knew what she was doing. I knew she was getting ready. I knew it was late. We were just getting through it. That moment didn't feel rude." And yet, he did point out this is an "elective" media opportunity on the carpet. She didn't have to stop if she didn't want to! You'd think she'd be a little more appreciative of his time, given she went out of her way to do this! Sigh.
