In an interview with Oprah that same year, Halle said that her initial response was to file a lawsuit against the magazine for publishing false reports; however, Eric soon came clean. During an interview with Jennifer Lawrence in 2017, Kim Kardashian revealed that she once used her phone-hacking skills to uncover that her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her while they were supposed to be celebrating her birthday. Among the revelations, Demi said she learned about Ashton's infidelity via a Google Alert on her cellphone in 2011, which flagged an Us Weekly interview with a woman who claimed she'd had sex with him.
