File this one under 'Hollywood is wild and the fashion industry is even wilder'!!! Ashton Kutcher is out here casually reminding us that before he was a sitcom heartthrob and tech bro hubby, he was a model getting absolutely humbled by high fashion standards. And TBH, this story is so ridiculous it circles right back around to iconic. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight that dropped over the weekend, the That '70s Show alum opened up about his early modeling days and dropped a jaw-dropping confession about being fired by Gucci. Yes, really! Related: Ashton Kutcher Talks About Demi Moore Years After Divorce Left Her Heartbroken Back when the brand was under the watchful, ruthless, fashion-god eye of Tom Ford, Ashton says he booked a campaign, hopped on a plane to Italy, and thought he was about to live his best Euro model fantasy. Instead, he got a pink Speedo and a pink slip. He recalled: "I showed up, I flew to Italy for the runway show, and he puts me in, like, a pink Speedo." Just imagine that visual for a second: Ashton Kutcher, Italy, Gucci, pink Speedo. This is already a movie. But it didn't end with applause or air kisses backstage! Ashton remembered: "[Ford] was like, 'He's too fat.' And then I got fired." Too fat?!?! According to Ashton, he weighed 178 pounds at the time. Not exactly shocking numbers for a tall, athletic guy! But apparently in Tom Ford's Gucci universe, that was a hard no. Brutal. Now 47, Ashton says he and Ford can actually laugh about it today, which shows some serious emotional growth. Or maybe just time doing its thing: "I laugh with him about it now, and he's like, 'You were too fat.' I was like, 'Dude, I was 178 lbs! Like, what are you talking about?'" But instead of dragging the designer, Ashton surprisingly defended the decision by pointing out fashion is about a very specific vision, even if that vision is totally unforgiving: "He had a specific thing that he wanted, that he wanted to see, in his eye was the right thing. It didn't mean I was less, but it just meant that I wasn't that for him for that moment." Deep! And also a reminder that rejection doesn't always mean you're lacking - just that you don't fit someone else's plan. Everybody. If you look in the mirror long enough, you'll find something you don't like, or that you think could be better, or that you think could be different." So, there you have it. Lots to ponder! Thoughts, y'all?? Drop 'em (below)! [Image via WENN] The post Ashton Kutcher Says He Once Got Fired As A Model For Being 'Too Fat'! appeared first on Perez Hilton.
